Wavemaster Australia has been in operation since 1979, and was formed by waveski pioneer and designer Phil Avalon. In 1984 the company moved from DeeWhy in Sydney to Newcastle, where it is today. Here a new range of custom and moulded boards were designed and produced for the Australian and overseas markets.
Wavemaster’s move to Newcastle saw the takeover of Wavemaster by Colin Samways. Col’s involvement in the industry over the years extended to production, shaping, designing and promotion of recreational, sport and competitive surfing. Col and wife Sharon now control Wavemaster from their new factory and showroom in the heart of Newcastle. The factory production system ensure quality results in every aspect of fibreglass manufacture and watersports.
Wavemaster produce a wide range of products designed around the water enthusiast. Wavemaster’s innovation in performance and design has stretched the product range into a wide selection of craft. Wavemaster’s products range from custom shaped and moulded waveski’s, racing and paddling skis as well as a comprehensive range of surf life saving equipment such as malibus, rescue boards and nipper boards. We also produce and supply top quality general surfing long boards, short boards, accessories, paddles, clothing and videos on how to waveski, promotional and performance surfing.
